KATIE GUNN
Retired High School Principle turned Author
My journey to writing had many starting points. I graduated from high school as a non-reader. My teachers and counselor told me I couldn't learn another language and I did not have math skills and would never be able to "do math." I married and moved to Latin America and became bilingual That experience gave me the confidence to go to college later in life, at 37 years old where I earned a history degree with math and anthropology minors. With my newly found education, I became a teacher, went on to earn a masters in administration, and retired from a high school principals position.
Writing brings me full circle, from not being able to read, to earning degrees in education. I am an example of someone who doesn't take no for an answer and never gives up. Now my energy is turned to my new career, writing!
